What you'll experience

1. Mira Mera Viewpoint

After roughly 40 minutes on the road we reach Mira Mera, the gateway to the Amazon. You'll have 20 minutes to take in the panoramic view over the valley and rainforest. If you'd like to go down to the famous swing over the edge, access costs $2 extra (optional).

2. Kichwa Indigenous Community

An hour deeper into the jungle, a native Kichwa community welcomes the group. You'll spend time with its members and take part in their traditions:

• Blowgun practice, the ancestral Amazonian hunting weapon
• Face painting with natural achiote
• Traditional dance, with the option to wear typical costumes
• Visit to the handicraft area, where you can take home a souvenir and support the community directly

3. Traditional canoe ride

About 15 minutes navigating the river by canoe, with life jackets provided for every passenger. A different perspective on the vegetation and life along the Amazonian riverbanks.

4. Traditional Amazonian lunch

A full lunch is included: soup and a main course of your choice — meat, chicken, vegetarian or vegan.

5. Hola Vida Waterfall

A 30-minute walk along rainforest trails, including a mud face-painting ritual led by your guide, brings you to Hola Vida Waterfall. You'll have 20 minutes to swim in its clear pools.

6. Indichuris Viewpoint

One of the most photographed viewpoints in the Ecuadorian Amazon, overlooking the bend of the Pastaza River and unbroken rainforest. Entrance fee $3 per person (not included). Swing available as an optional extra.

7. Artisanal chocolate process

We close the day at an artisanal chocolate workshop, where you take part in every step: roasting the cacao, peeling it, grinding it and shaping your own chocolate bar. Optionally, you can try a yuca tortilla with chocolate or Amazonian tea for $2 extra.
